About us

The mission of the Saint Florian Center is to provide at-risk Indianapolis youth an opportunity to foster leadership skills, develop problem solving methods, and survival tatics through a varity of programming and opportunities in the community in order to create leaders of tomorrow. Indianapolis Firefighters developed the program in 1992 to influence the youth to: "Do Something Positive - Be Someone Positive - Have Something Positive"

We are a not for profit youth leadership development organization that operate after school programs, summer camps, tobacco free programs, rites of passage programs, youth lectures and workshops, youth ambassador programs, alcohol and violence prevention programs, goal setting, time management, college preparation, and other disciplines to foster civility and success.

All programs are designed to foster improvements in understanding core values like honesty, respect, responsibility, and character. We improve communication and team building skills. We make sure that youth are culturally competent and develop lifelong learning skills so that dreams can come true.

We have been blessed to receive many awards for our service to Indianapolis Youth (too many to list) The Health and Hospital Corporation, Drug Free Marion County, The YMCA Urban Mission Branch, The Police - Fire - Sheriff's Award, The Indianapolis Fire Department Community Service Award. Phillips Temple Church Community Award, The Fox 59 "Unsung Hero" Award, and others....
